Tuesday - 15th of July
Around NAVE«s building site a market is growing: Hippies are selling their jewellery, people from Ecuador are making music and a drawer does his portraits. 1000 copies of the "what-is-that-answer" are gone.
Late at night we finish the tension-varnish-work.
Wednesday - 16th of July
Two policeman ask us if we have a permission to do that. we say "no, we do it secret". The guys nerve a lot... we have to call the Police-chief and - wonder - he's very friendly, he gives us a general permission for all further steps... We start to put the first layer of the acrylic silver varnish. Markus comes in the evening to help us.
Thursday - 17th of July
We put the second silver layer - wow!that looks like the model we did long time before! People are starting to take pictures of them and NAVE, more fun-fair ground around us and an old man is playing melancholic songs on his accordion. We take the protection-tent away and feel very unsure if NAVE`S skin is waterproofed; it starts to rain like crazy right after..
Friday - 18th of July
We slept bad, dreamed of a swimming NAVE...but not one drop entered! NAVE is waterproof! We put the fire protection. Today we are Teresa, tOmi, marCo, Carlos, Sandra, Hasi, Hannes and Curt. It rains so hard that we don't understand the others word, but its a good sound.
Saturday - 19th of July
Today we are only Teresa, tOmi and marCo. We put the landing-stage and paint the boomerang tables (dark grey). Its still raining. Rudolf from the KUB is coming to visit us (he came almost every day). He's happy, stressed and confident about the near opening. He says "It will be the best exhibition this town ever saw - no, it will be the best exhibition the world ever saw!"

Monday - 21th of July
The Details... the fff... air-condition does«nt work, about 40degrees in here! We call the firm which sponsored the equipment and say: #!%'!!#'¤$!! Two men are coming. They explain us that we are more stupid than the equipment bad...we have to cut bigger holes into NAVEs floor for the airs circulation... night - and it still does«nt work.
Tuesday - 22nd of July
Michelangelo and Maria Pistoletto come to visit us in NAVE. They like the project very much. We install the computers, all is working without problems. Uli from Teleport does a great job! In one hour all five machines are running perfectly! NAVE is online! the ffff...condition still does«nt cool down the silvership.... because of some weak parts of NAVEs skin we have to paint all the upper surface again. right after it starts to rain.... it works
Wednesday - 23rd of July
Lst night marCo came to help us with the ffff.... it seems that we got it: now a huge hole (with a metal grid above it) is blowing a lot of cold air into here - much better now. lets C if it works when the sun is gonna be real hot... tomorrow there will be the press conference. We still have a lot to do, details and more pages for NAVEsite...the Peru people are playing now every day their traditional songs in front of NAVE; nice cross over...
24th - 31st of July
till the first moment the crowd is floating in and out. We knew that there will be coming alot of people, but we«re surprised that EVERYBODY wants to come in and find out... The first three days we got about 3000 visitors in NAVE - before we get crazy we decide to change the opening-time from 8 to 5 hours. Every day from 5p.m to 10p.m. Alex and Robert, students from the Intermedia-highschool are our assistents and will do the job in NAVE alone by the beginning of next week. We are tired and awake by talking to so many people - their interest and couriosity inspires/gives and takes energy. When we say: we are interested in developing a dialogical art-term they understand intuitivly what we mean. The work in Nave - the life of NAVE shows that we«re on a good way. A lot of people are coming the first time a bit closer to artistical-, architectural- and cultural projects and contexts; thats a lot. Even some nosy policemen are embarking the netship! First we think we did something "wrong" again, but they just want to play with its possibilitys like all the others. The Porgy and Bess-poeple are coming now too. They heard that they can send e-mails and NAVE-postcards to their folks back home... The WHERE AM I HERE feature on the NAVEsite is getting a kind of another diary - have a lOOk - put your description!
