Pina is Wim Wenders' cinematic homage to the choreographer and dancer Pina Bausch, who revolutionized international dance theater, filmed with the ensemble of the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch. On a visually powerful journey of discovery, the film leads from the stage of the legendary ensemble out into the city and the surrounding area of Wuppertal — the place that, for 35 years, was the center of creative work for the choreographer, who passed away in the summer of 2009.
