In Museum – Marie Chouinard
An installation and solo dance piece by Marie Chouinard
In Museum is an intimate, poetic encounter within a public space. In the midst of the exhibition at Kunsthaus Bregenz, visitors are invited to enter a specially designated area one at a time and discreetly confide a wish or a hope to the dancer. In response to each revelation, a unique, improvised dance emerges: a spontaneous ritual, a gesture of transformation, an attempt to give shape to the invisible and to infuse the wish with strength through movement. In this way, In Museum continuously evolves— a living work that changes with every individual interaction.
With this piece, Marie Chouinard references the ancient figure of the Pythia, the prophetic priestess of Delphi, who spoke in trance while her messages were interpreted by temple priests. Like a dream, the mystery of prophecy eludes clear understanding—yet the insight “The present is our only eternity” remains timelessly true.
In Museum takes place between 11 am and 2 pm. Participation is possible at any time during this period, subject to space availability, and is already included in the price of the KUB admission ticket.
In cooperation with Bregenzer Frühling
