Exclusive Three-Part KUB Edition by the Artist Precious Okoyomon Now Available

Precious Okoyomon has currently filled KUB with poetic landscapes. The artist has also created a KUB Edition, which is now available. The edition includes a set of three sheets, which may be acquired individually or as a series. They show a drawing and a photograph from Okoyomon’s childhood in which Okoyomon appears holding a stuffed animal. Also included is a still from a film piece the artist produced especially for Kunsthaus Bregenz. The film accompanies a flight over the suburbs of Okoyomon’s home state, Ohio, with Okoyomon piloting the airplane. “Re-creation strip down carry nothing but light only light” is written at the bottom of the picture.

“This show is joy, trauma, and repression. As a child I was often co-dependent on my stuffed animals. I took them everywhere as my protectors, to shield me from the reality of my childhood. I’ve been thinking through the way memories are stored, held, recalled, created; stuffed animals represent tangible portals of collective and personal memory.”
