In 2018, the KUB billboards on Seestraße in Bregenz will feature works by four young female artists. After Lili Reynaud Dewar British artist Maeve Brennan will present The Goods (2018), that is specifically designed for Kunsthaus Bregenz.
“The Goods (2018) was produced in collaboration with forensic archaeologist, Dr Christos Tsirogiannis. Tsirogiannis has built up a digital archive made up of over 30,000 images and depicting more than 100,000 objects from the illicit antiquities trade. He uses this archive to identify antiquities of potentially illicit origin in museums, collections, dealers' galleries and auction houses, matching them with images from the confiscated archives of three major convicted dealers, Giacomo Medici, Robin Symes and Gianfranco Becchina. These antiquities are often seized and repatriated to their country of origin as a result of his work. Each billboard documents an identification made by Tsirogiannis, displaying the images he used from the confiscated archives to make the match. The antiquities were discovered in various locations including Frieze Masters, London, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and the private collection of New York billionaire, Michael Steinhardt.“
